
Raúl Montesinos, was born in La Puebla de Cazalla (Seville) on January 31, 1974.
From a very young age, he has expressed great concern about knowing and interpreting flamenco cante, it is at the age of 14 when he receives the first reward for his efforts, he obtains the II Prize for “SAETAS” in the Contest called by Radio Nacional de España in 1988.
As a result of this event, his artistic career takes great momentum and in the years to come he will expand his record with important awards in both Cante and Saetas Contests. In this same year of 1988, he received the Gold Badge of the “Peña Manolo Caracol” of Montalbán (Córdoba).
His flamenco career does not go unnoticed by the aficionados and he is making his way among the Flamenco Peñas throughout Spain, as well as participating in festivals flamencos.
In them he shares the stage with great singers such as Chano Lobato, José Menese, Diego Clavel, Carmen Linares, El Cabrero, José de la Tomasa, Calixto Sánchez, José Mercé, Rancapino, el Pele, Mayte Martín, Miguel Poveda, Arcángel, etc.
1996 he toured in Germany as a singer with the company of María Serrano.
Another outstanding performance was at the Albéniz Theater in Madrid, in April 1998, within a cycle of recitals by José Menese. In 1999 one of his dreams come true: he participated in the XXXI Cante Jondo Meeting of La Puebla de Cazalla dedicated to Dolores Jiménez Alcántara, “La Niña de La Puebla” and Francisco Moreno Galván.
Since then he hasn’t stopped being present at national and international festivals, and collecting awards and distinctions.
The most outstanding was the obtaining of the “Lámpara Minera” in the XLIV Edition of the International Contest of Cante de las Minas de la Unión (Murcia) in 2004.
