The Flamenco dance course of Bulería/Tangos, taught by the renowned Sevillian dancer Juan Polvillo, offers an intensive and enriching experience designed for students of two different levels.
Beginner/Intermediate Level
During this six-day course, the first three days are dedicated to the study and practice of Flamenco Tango. Tango is a flamenco style known for its distinct rhythm. It is a festive style. Students will learn the fundamentals of Tango, including its musical structure, characteristic rhythm, and basic foot and arm movements. They will focus on developing proper technique and becoming familiar with the emotional expression inherent in this style.
The following three days will be devoted to Bulería, one of the most festive and energetic styles of flamenco. Bulería is characterized by its fast rhythm and playful character, providing students with the opportunity to explore improvisation and creativity in dance. Basic steps of Bulería will be taught, as well as its musical structure and distinctive rhythm.
Intermediate/Advanced Level
For students with a more advanced level, the course will delve deeper into the technique and artistic expression of both styles. More complex variations of steps will be worked on, and the subtleties of interpretation and improvisation in Bulería and Tango will be explored. Juan Polvillo, with his vast experience and profound knowledge of flamenco, will guide students to explore new levels of skill and expression in dance.

Tango Flamenco is a festive style that radiates energy and contagious joy. With its lively and vibrant rhythm, it invites celebration and jubilation in every beat. Its movements full of passion and its marked expressive character captivate audiences, transporting them to a world of festivity and emotion. With a musical structure of 4/4, this style allows for improvised expression and interaction between dancers and music.

JUAN POLVILLO
Juan Polvillo's artistic trajectory spans over two decades of dedication to choreographic and academic studies, establishing himself as a prominent exponent of flamenco. Throughout his career, he has had the privilege of studying under the tutelage of renowned masters of the genre, including iconic names such as Farruco, Manolo Marín, Manolete, and Matilde Coral.
His artistic excellence has been reflected in numerous accolades in the world of flamenco. From winning first place for tarantos at the Flamenco Festival of Ubrique, Cádiz, in 1991, to achieving first place for alegrías at the Flamenco Festival of San Pedro de Alcántara, Málaga, in 1992, and second place for tarantos at the International Festival of the Mines, La Unión, Murcia, in 2004. Since the year 2000, Juan Polvillo has charted his own path as a soloist and choreographer, presenting a series of acclaimed shows such as "Contigo Tierra de Andalucía," "Latido Flamenco," and "Compás a Dos." His art has transcended borders, taking his passion for flamenco to multiple countries and renowned stages, where he has had the honor of sharing his artistry in front of personalities such as King Hussein of Jordan, Hassan II of Morocco, former US President George Bush, the Kings of Spain, and Pope John Paul II.
In addition to his notable presence in the performing arts, Juan Polvillo has left his mark on the film industry, participating in emblematic movies like "Sevillanas" by Carlos Saura and "Montoya y Tarantos."
Further highlighting his international prestige, in 2012, he had the privilege of performing before the President of Austria at the Imperial Hall of Vienna's City Hall, marking the beginning of a prestigious press dance. Subsequently, in May 2013, he took his show "Así lo siento yo" on a successful tour through Central Europe, and in April of the same year, he delighted audiences at the pre-biennial of Málaga with his show "Bailando al cante."
Currently, Juan Polvillo balances his international tours and the teaching of flamenco in prestigious courses abroad with the direction of his dance school in Seville, where he continues to impart his passion and knowledge to future generations of flamenco dancers. His artistic legacy and commitment to the dissemination of flamenco continue to leave an indelible mark on the world of Spanish art and culture.
